GEOMORPHIC TANK. DEBBIE HESSE & RASHMI TALPADE

GeoMorphic Tank is an ongoing collaborative platform that shares the intersectional and creative processes of Debbie Hesse and Rashmi Talpade to create sculptural installations, videos, and photographs that fold in materials and notions from everyday life. Plants, household goods, and consumer waste combined, create elemental forms that hang, spin, pile, and reflect, echoing natural processes and phenomena. LED lights and cast shadows to literally project and re-contextualize material and form, exploring ideas at the juncture between physical/ virtual, fleeting/ enduring, destruction/ regrowth.

The artists' divergent visual vocabularies, lack of regard for any hierarchy of materials and call-and-response like work process gives rise to sculptural forms that explore ideas about the breakdown, overload and flattening of information
